What is a Union Authorization Card?

A union authorization card is a form that employees sign to indicate their interest in starting or joining a union, designating the union as their bargaining agent. Obtaining union authorization cards is crucial for the unionization process, and since October 2015, the NLRB has accepted electronic versions, allowing for digital signatures and streamlined submission of cards. 

 

To support the formation of SCG, we welcome union authorization cards from individuals who meet the following criteria:

U.S. Citizenship:

Signatories must be citizens of the United States.

Music Creatives:

Songwriters or producers who create songs for artists signed to record labels under Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, or Warner Music Group.

​

Released Works:

Songwriters or producers who have songs released by artists signed to record labels under Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, or Warner Music Group.
